James A. Linden, 59, of North Eaton, died Friday, May 16, 2014 at University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center after a brief illness. He was born May 6, 1955 in Elyria and was a 1973 graduate of Midview High School. His career as a truck driver spanned over 30 years.
Jim was a master of “the bad joke”. If it was awful, he would tell it to make you laugh. He didn’t know a stranger and loved talking and joking with anyone who would listen. He loved his grandchildren and spent time with them whenever he could. He was always ready to help his kids with home improvements, repairs, building fences and using his woodworking skills to build play equipment for his grandchildren. He also wrote music and played the guitar.
His best friend was his wife, Diane. They were married 30 years and loved camping, working together and spending time with family and friends. Diane was with Jim, holding his hand when he passed and he will be with her always.
Jim is survived by his wife, Diane M. (nee Landes); children, Adrian Linden, Jamie (Alan) Sharp, James (Dr. Shamone) Panter, Dr. Dan (Erin) Linden and Michelle (Maurice) Lindsey; grandchildren, Jacob, Joel and Alaina Sharp, Kyle, Lindi and Jackson Panter, Evelyn and David Linden, Amealia, Reece, Anthony and Jayden Lindsey; great grandson, Evan Sharp; mother, Laura Linden; brothers, Bernie Linden and Craig (Shirley) Linden; and sisters, Barb (Ken) Scheuvront and Cathy (Rick) Choma.
He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Linden.
The family will conduct private services.
