Following high school, he served in the United States Navy from 1943 to 1946. He then pursued a career in the plastics molding industry and was the founder of Forest City Foam Products, now known as Forest City Technologies in Wellington.
Elvin is survived by his loving wife, Cherie Moody (nee Babitt); three children, Susan (James) Doerfler of Ashland, Ann (Gary) Jordan, and Phillip Moody, both of Wellington. He is also survived by three stepchildren, Scott (Allison) King, Suzanne (Michael) Zid and Michael King of Columbus. In addition, he leaves 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He also leaves his three brothers, Thurman and Roy, both of Ashland and Allen in Nevada.
He was preceded in death by sons, Douglas and Daniel Moody; two sisters, Marie Walker and Lela Samples; and a brother, Wayne Moody.
Elvin will be remembered as a kind-hearted person with a great sense of humor.
