Jean M. Baumann (nee Roling), 74, of Elyria, passed away Saturday, May 17, 2014, at The Cleveland Clinic, following an extended illness. Jean was born November 30, 1939 in Elyria and was a lifelong area resident.
She was an active member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Elyria. Jean was also a member of and past president of The Ohio Veterinary Medical Association Auxiliary and a member of The LaGrange Engine Club. She was also politically involved in local government. Jean treasured spending time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed travel, cooking, gardening and animal charities.
Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Dr. Robert L. Baumann; three daughters, Susan L. Linz of Canton, Patricia J. Abrams (Randy) of Canton, Dr. Carolyn L. Baumann Rossini (Michael) of Olmsted Falls. Additional survivors include seven grandchildren; and her sister, Shirley Roling of Elyria.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth C. and Genevieve J. (nee Cajka) Roling.
Family will receive friends 4 to 7 P.M., Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at The Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria, (440)322-4626, where closing prayers will be at 9:30 A.M., Thursday, May 22, 2014. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 A.M. at St. Mary Church, 320 Middle Ave., Elyria. The Reverend Father Charles T. Diedrick, Pastor, will be the Celebrant. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery, Elyria.
Memorial contributions, in Jean’s memory, can be sent to St. Mary Church or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
