Ella Mae “Peggy” Morgan (nee Spraggins), 77, of Lorain, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 17, 2014, at Mercy Regional Medical Center, following a lengthy illness. She was born November 22, 1936, in Huntsville, Alabama.
Peggy retired from Autumn Aegis Nursing Home after 19 years of service. She was also a cosmetologist for many years. She was a Charter Member of New Bethel P.B.C. in Lorain and was a faithful servant for 64 years, serving on the Mother Board, Senior Choir, Pastor’s Aide, Ladies’ Auxiliary, Kitchen Committee and Trustee Board member. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, Bible Study, singing, and word search puzzles.
Mrs. Morgan is survived by her son, Minister William “David” Morgan of Akron; and daughter, Kim E. Kendricks (John) of Lorain; grandchildren, Jordan and Erin Kendricks; siblings, Katherine “Nottie” Walden of Lorain, Sam Spraggins (Emma) of Lorain, John Spraggins (Betty) of Lorain, Darnell “Bingo” Spraggins, Sr. of Elyria, Margaret Adams (Don) of Cleveland.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Rose Holley; sister-in-law, Birtie Bernice Spraggins; parents, Cornelius and Lucy Spraggins (Mastin).
Friends may call 9:30 to 11 A.M., Saturday, May 24, 2014, at New Bethel P.B.C., 3880 Dayton Avenue, Lorain. Funeral service will begin at 11 A.M., at the church. Elder Tyrone Holley will officiate. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
