Grafton man pleads guilty in fatal wreck

ELYRIA — A Grafton man pleaded guilty Monday to aggravated vehicular homicide and other charges stemming from a 2012 vehicle crash that claimed the life of a South Amherst auto shop owner.

Timothy Ropchock, 42, was driving a 2012 Dodge Avenger on state Route 58 when he crossed the center line and struck a southbound 1986 Volkswagen Rabbit, according to the Ohio Highway Patrol. The crash killed 58-year-old Glenn Angney.

Ropchock, who also entered a guilty plea to DUI, had a blood alcohol level of 0.22, well above the legal driving limit of 0.08, troopers said.
