EATON TWP – Police have arrested a man who allegedly handed a note to a gas station cashier and made off with money from the register on Sunday.

David Kimble, 33, of Elyria was charged with robbery and theft at his father’s house on the 41200 block of Griswold Road Tuesday morning.

Police said Kimble went into a Marathon Gas Station on 38495 Royalton Road at about 9:15 p.m. on Sunday and handed a note to the clerk, saying he was robbing the station. Kimble took the money from the register and fled the scene in a red van parked outside, police said.

After looking at surveillance footage and going over the information officers got when they did a traffic stop on Kimble’s van earlier on Friday, police were able to identify Kimble as the suspect.

He was brought to Lorain County Jail, where he was being held on an $11,000 bond until his next court date at 2 p.m. Thursday in Elyria Municipal Court.

Let’s see…….kill a gas station cashier in cold blood, putting a bullet through her head. No death penalty received.

Hand a gas station cashier a note and take a few bucks….should be worth about a day of probation.
