He was employed as an electrician at U.S. Steel, Lorain, for 35 years. A member of St. Jude Catholic Church, he was a member of the Holy Name Society and worked as head gardener for the parish for many years. He was also a member of the K of C #774 and the Elyria Senior Fellowship.
Surviving are one son, Mark Novak of Elyria; one stepson, Dale Davies of Elyria; and one sister, Mary Ann Novak of Elyria.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Lee Novak (nee Watson) in 1974; his second wife, Dolores Novak (nee Gonczy); one stepson, Dave Davies; two brothers, Robert J. Novak and Edward Novak; one sister, Evelyn Copas; and his parents, Emil J. and Anna (nee Dugan) Novak.
Friends will be received Friday, May 23, 2014, from 5 until 8 P.M., at the Reichlin Roberts Funeral Home, 327 Cleveland Street, Elyria, Closing prayers will be in the funeral home on Saturday, May 25, 2014 at 9:30 A.M., followed by Mass at St. Jude Church, 590 Poplar Street, Elyria, at 10 A.M., with the Reverend Father Frank P. Kosem, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Elyria.
