Johnny Manziel subject of ‘joke’ $25 million lawsuit

Browns rookie quarterback Johnny Manziel is the subject of what appears to be a hoax lawsuit filed in district court in Florida.

The sexual harassment lawsuit seeks a temporary restraining order and $25 million in punitive damages for “emotional distress.”

The lawsuit, dated May 2 and filed May 16, is filled with spelling mistakes and outrageous claims. Samantha Schacher is listed as the name of the plaintiff, but vehemently denied she field the suit.

“This joke “lawsuit” is obviously 1000000% fake and/ or frivolous. Embarrassing I even have say this after reading the nonsense.” Erik Burkhardt, Manziel’s agent, tweeted this morning after the lawsuit began to circulate.

The lawsuit includes claims of Manziel calling the plaintiff nonstop and sending naked pictures of himself, including one with a strategically placed hot dog bun. It also claims Manziel admitted steroid use, smoking marijuana in the locker room before games, getting illegal money from Texas A&M coach Kevin Sumlin and cheating on exams.

“It’s insanity,” Burkhardt told USA TODAY Sports. “You can read the thing for yourself.

“What some people will do for publicity is just embarrassing. That’s all I’ve got to say.”

Burkhardt added it is “absolutely possible” Manziel could seek legal action, although it’s early in the process.

“We absolutely will protect our client to the fullest extent of the law,” Burkhardt said.

Schacher’s imdb.com page lists her as a host, producer and pop culture expert, including on Dr. Drew’s nightly show on HLN. Drew was mentioned in the lawsuit in a sexual context, and CNN’s address in Atlanta was the one listed for the plaintiff.

“It’s 100% a hoax people,” Schacher tweeted, adding the name of the person she believes filed the lawsuit.

Manziel was the No. 22 pick of the Browns on May 8.
