Pair charged in Elyria shooting incident

ELYRIA — Two city men are due in Elyria Municipal Court on Tuesday related to a shots fired incident at 14th Street and Middle Avenue about 7:55 p.m. Friday.

A person assaulted at the scene received minor injuries, according to a police news release. A police report was unavailable Sunday, but the release said officers seized three guns, ammunition, heroin and cash and arrested three.

Timothy A. Hill Jr. was charged with assault. Curtis Whitmore was charged with possession of heroin, trafficking heroin, discharging a firearm, having a weapon under disability, possession of criminal tools and tampering with evidence. A juvenile was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Hill, 22, has convictions for assault, domestic violence and resisting arrest. Hill, last known address the 100 block of Winthrop Drive, is free on a $2,000 bond.

Whitmore, 19, has pending aggravated burglary and aggravated robbery charges in an unrelated case. Whitmore, of the 300 block of 15th Street, was being held without bond at the Lorain County Jail on Sunday night.
