Ricky James Trupo, 58, of Elyria passed away Friday May 23, 2014 at New Life Hospice of St. Joseph in Lorain following a short illness from complications of colon surgery. He was born April 4, 1956 in Elyria.
Ricky was an Elyria High School graduate, an honorary graduate of Elyria Catholic High School for being a great supporter of the football program and was given a letter jacket that he cherished all his life. Ricky attended The Murray Ridge Workshop in Oberlin, and worked at McDonald’s Midway Mall for several years. Ricky enjoyed watching professional, college and high school sports, walking, swimming, basketball. He had most recently lived with Bill and Barbara Watters in Wellington for the past five years.
Survivors include a sister, Bonnie (nee Trupo) Muniga (Dick) of Naples, Florida; a nephew, Sean Getty (Lisa) of Avon Lake; a niece, Natalie (nee Getty) O’Donnell (Jonathan) of Scottsdale, Arizona; two great nieces, Devynn, and Avery; two great nephews, Dustin and Kellen.
Ricky was preceded in death by his parents, James V. and Mildred Mae (nee Vimpeny) Trupo; and a brother, Edward Trupo.
All services are private. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Elyria.
Ricky’s family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Elyria Memorial Hospital, Specialty Hospital in Amherst, and New Life Hospice for their loving care of Ricky.
