Bertie Ann Gribble, 78, of Grafton, went home to be with Jesus Sunday, May 25, 2014, following a long battle with lung disease. Bertie was born November 10, 1935 in Clarksburg, West Virginia, and resided in Ohio since 1963.
Bertie was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She loved spending time with her family, watching soap operas, traveling and playing the lottery.
Bertie is survived by her children, Donna (Jeff) Smith of Grafton, Karen (Lee) Hover, of Litchfield, Peggy Gribble of Grafton, Larry (Donna) Gribble of Grafton and Randy (Heather) Gribble of South Carolina; brother, Robert (Pauline) Scheuvront of Clarksburg, West Virginia; and a sister, Ida Vecchio of Maryland. Bertie had 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Junior Raymond Gribble; her son, Walter (Jack) Gribble; and her sister, Kate Hart of Clarksburg, West Virginia.
Friends may call Thursday, May 28, 2014, at Calvary Baptist Church, 114 Hope Court, Elyria, from 10 A.M., until 12 Noon, with a Celebration of Life Service immediately following. Burial will be in Butternut Ridge Cemetery, Eaton Township.
Because Bertie did not like funeral flowers, we ask that anyone wishing to pay tribute to Bertie’s memory may do so by making a monetary donation to Calvary Baptist Church Benevolent Fund, 114 Hope Ct., Elyria, OH 44035, in memory of Bertie Gribble.
