SHEFFIELD LAKE – A man wearing a hooded sweatshirt and a scarf over his face robbed a mini mart with a butcher knife on Wednesday night, according to police.

Andrew Kriso, 21, was charged with aggravated robbery at about 8 p.m. at his house on the 200 block of Erieview Boulevard on Wednesday.

According to police, Kriso walked into Shree Quick Mart on 5380 Lake Road at about 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday, wearing a hooded sweatshirt and a scarf over his face and brandishing a butcher knife.

The clerk at the Quick Mart told police Kriso stole an undisclosed amount of money from the register and left the scene on foot, heading eastbound.

Shortly after the robbery, police found Kriso walking near the store. Using surveillance videos from the store, officers were able to identify him as the suspect.

They took him into custody at his house on Erieview Boulevard. Officers searched the woods behind the Quick Mart and found the scarf, knife, sweatshirt and gloves that police said Kriso used while robbing the store.

Police interviewed Kriso, who admitted to robbing the store on Wednesday. He was taken to Sheffield Lake City Jail, where he was being held on Thursday.
