Wilbur A. “Bud” Shuster, 88, of Elyria, went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 26, 2014 after a short illness at Center Ridge Nursing Home in North Ridgeville. Wilbur was born October 27, 1925 in Eaton Township.
He was a graduate of Eaton High School. Wilbur worked for Columbia Gas Co. for 40 years and served as a service district manager until his retirement. His interests include hunting, love of the outdoors, playing pool, playing Bocce, loved to travel, especially to Florida and now is fishing in his favorite fishing grounds.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Ruth (nee Shepherd); daughter, Sandra (David) Kempka of Kernersville, North Carolina; son, Mark of Elyria; six grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Helen of Middleburg Hts. and Eda of Tennessee.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ira and Lucilla (nee Beermaker); and his sister, Regina.
Family will receive friends Friday, May 30, 2014 from 11 A.M. to 12 Noon in the Weigand Room at St. Mary Church, 320 Middle Ave., Elyria, where Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12 Noon. Reverend Father Charles Diedrick will be the Celebrant. Internment will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Elyria.
In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations be made to New Life Hospice, 5255 N. Abbe Rd., Elyria, OH 44035.
