ELYRIA — The owner of a $1.125 million Sheffield Lake home where the Lorain County Drug Task Force reported finding an under-construction methamphetamine lab in April has been indicted.
Maduh Dutta is charged with the illegal manufacture of drugs, illegal assembly or possession of chemicals for the manufacture of drugs, possession of criminal tools and possession of drugs.
The indictment also seeks to seize the home, at 3675 E. Lake Road.
Drug Task Force officers found a sophisticated meth lab under construction inside the home. The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation has said the lab, which used the rare thionyl/chloride method of cooking meth, was the first such lab found in the state.
