Lorain blotter: Woman arrested after giving officers false name

Saturday, May 31

  • 3:56 a.m. — East 23rd Street near Elyria Avenue, Berdell Franklin, 43, 3800 block Tacoma Ave., Lorain, arrested and charged with obstructing official business. Police said they stopped Franklin for riding a bicycle with the lights off and she gave an officer a false first name because she was wanted by the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office.
  • 4:21 p.m. — 900 block Seventh Court, Leonard McCall Jr., 29, 2000 block Oberlin Ave., Lorain, charged with domestic violence but not arrested. McCall’s girlfriend said he slashed the tires on several of her vehicles, smashed dishes in her house and grabbed her by the arms, leaving marks and scratches. Police said McCall was gone when they arrived.
  • 4:57 p.m. — 2000 block Reeves Ave., Briana Ruiz, 18, 300 block W. Seventh St., Lorain, arrested and charged with domestic violence and violation of a protection order. Ruiz’s mother and her mother’s boyfriend told police Ruiz entered their home in violation of a protection order, threatened the mother and spat on the couch.

    Why don’t the arrest the two prostitutes that hang out around 6th and 7th between Broadway and Reid Ave? They are easy to spot one black skinny girl one white short girl with black hair.
