Linda Ann Walden, 72, of Oberlin, passed away peacefully Monday, June 9, 2014 to be home with the Lord in the Mercy Hospice of Lorain, following a short illness. She was born in Wheelwright Kentucky, then coming to Oberlin in 1958.
She was employed as a surgical nurses aide for Allen Memorial Hospital and also a laborer for Master Corp of Oberlin. Mrs. Walden was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Oberlin, where she served as Senior usher, Sister of Wisdom of the Church. She enjoyed baking, she was also a interior designer and designer of different occasion, traveling and spending time with her family and friends.
Mrs. Walden will be sadly missed by her husband of 53 years, Floyd P. Walden; sons, Kevin D. Walden of El Paso, Texas, Brent Lee Walden of Sandusky; four grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; sisters, Ardella (James) Johnson of Elyria, Frankie Pilson of Elyria, Hattie Adams of Kokomo, Indiana, Shirley A. Adams of Elyria, Renette L (Dwayne) Hubbard of Elyria; brother, William (Lazelle) Powell, Jr. of Elyria; sister-in-law, Sharon Holloway of Cleveland.
She was preceded in death by twin daughters, Baby girls Walden; parents, William S. Powell, Sr. and Lenora Adams; and step father, Daniel Adams; brother, John C. Scott; sister, Dorothy James; in-laws, Samuel and Fannie Mae Walden.
Friends may call Saturday, June 14, 2014 from 10 until time of service at 11 A.M. in the Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 185 South Pleasant Street, Pastor Fred Bell will officiate. Burial will be in Westwood Cemetery in Oberlin.
