Police are investigating after a round for a semiautomatic handgun was found on a Westlake City Schools bus.

A bus driver found a cartridge for a .380 automatic firearm on the floor of a bus while sweeping after the morning run on Wednesday. The bus carries students from Lee Burneson Middle School and Parkside Intermediate School.

All students who rode that bus either at dismissal on Tuesday or on Wednesday morning were interviewed by Westlake Police, and their lockers were checked by school staff. No weapon was found, and no one professed any knowledge of the incident, according to Police Capt. Guy Turner.

Parents who have that caliber ammunition in the home are urged to check that it is properly secured. Additionally, Westlake police are encouraging parents to have a serious talk with their children about the incident and gun safety.

Anonymous tips about this incident, or any Westlake school safety issue, can be called into the Safe Schools Helpline at (440) 250-1199,

    .380 auto… i make sure my kids carry AT LEAST .40 S&W..

I prefer a .45 myself, but in a pinch will grab the .38 revolver with .357 defense ammunition.

A woman does need to have a handgun to fit every purse! Sometimes, that .45 is just too big.

Shoes, purse and handgun must always match.

        A .38 won’t accept .357 ammo.

          So my S&W Model 60 Revolver won’t fire both .357 Magnum and .38 S&W Special +P?

Of course it will, and has, thousands of times.

So did my Dan Wesson .357.
Bough a Colt .380 when they first came out.
Its a junk round, it might kill someone, but I tested it on a pine board, less than a 1/2 inch thick at 2 feet and it barely entered the surface world, turned sideways and I picked it out with my fingers.

            Its junk.

Check into a Bersa .45 Easily concealable, Not as tight of a grouping as a Kimber, but is still pretty accurate.

A Beretta 92, 22 LR fits in your back pocket, no bigger than a man’s wallet. Also comes in a .25.

Would never carry anything less than 9mm for self-defense.

Though I do like the Bersa .380.

Kahr PM9 and S&W Shield in 9mm are also very compact and effective.
