Hazel I. (Puder) Sheldon, 95, of Clarksfield, died Thursday, June 12, 2014, at Altenheim Nursing Home in Strongsville. She was born April 14, 1919, in Huron County, and lived in the Clarksfield area her entire life.
She was a graduate of Wakeman High School and Oberlin Business College. She began attending the Clarksfield United Methodist Church at age six and became a member at age 12, where she played organ and was active with the United Methodist Women. Hazel was also a member of the Western Reserve Athletic Boosters.
She is survived by her children, Karen Zarzour of Strongsville, Duane (Maureen) Sheldon of North Ridgeville; daughter-in-law, Linda Sheldon of Taylorsville, Kentucky; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Clay and Juanita Marie (Byron) Puder; a son, Dane Sheldon; foster sisters, Betty Lucal, and Dorothy Street; and a brother in infancy.
Friends may call Friday June 13, 2014, from 5 until 8 P.M., at the Morman Funeral Home, 16 Cooper Street, Wakeman. Services will be held Saturday, June 14, 2014, 11 A.M., at the Clarksfield United Methodist Church on Zenobia Road. Reverend Patty Jo Sheldon will officiate. Burial will follow at Clarksfield Methodist Cemetery.
