Charles “Chuck” Joseph Lambright

Lambright_CharlesOBIT FLAGCharles “Chuck” Joseph Lambright, 78, of Amherst, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, June 16, 2014, at New Life Hospice Residential Center in Lorain. He was born March 17, 1936 in Mansfield. Chuck was raised in the Mansfield area, graduating from Ashland University. He had made his home in Amherst for the last 25 years.

He proudly served in the United States Army. Chuck started his career with General Electric. He also owned and operated American Analytical Engineering Company and had as one of his major clients, NASA, doing work on the Space Shuttle program. Chuck finished his career at Oxford Instrumental as a global salesman selling electron microscopes. Chuck was an active member of Amherst Congregational United Church of Christ and a former member of LaPorte United Methodist Church, where he served as the Youth Director. He had a love for music, playing the drums for big bands throughout his life into his sixties, and following Drum Corps International. He was an avid sports fan, football, baseball- and in his younger years, he tried out with the Detroit Tigers. His hobbies included reading, especially his Bible and his technical books.

Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Sandra Lambright (nee Dillman); his son, James (Beth) Lambright of New London; his daughter, Susan (Michael Sprouse) Lambright of North Ridgeville; his stepson, Jared Leal of Parma Heights; stepdaughter, Jodi Leal of Cleveland; grandchildren, Jevon and Cicely; and his brother, Donald Lambright of Mansfield; He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Belva Lambright (nee Donough).

Friends may call Friday, June 20, 2014, from 2 until 4 and 6 until 8 P.M., at the Hempel Funeral Home, 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 21, 2014, at 10 A.M., in the funeral home. The Reverend Attila Szemesi, Pastor of Amherst Congregational United Church of Christ, will officiate. Full Military Honors will be provided by the Amherst Veterans Military Honor Guard.
