Indians: Tribe, Angels postponed by rain

CLEVELAND — The Indians and Angels were postponed by rain Wednesday night at Progressive Field.

The four-game series was scheduled to wrap up today at noon, but the teams won’t play a doubleheader, with the Angels needing to fly home Thursday night for a three-game series against Texas that opens Friday.

There has been no official makeup date announced, but the teams have mutual off-days July 28, Aug. 14 and Sept. 8. The game is expected to be made up on one of those days.

Both teams will go with Wednesday’s scheduled pitchers — Justin Masterson (4-5, 5.05 ERA) starting for the Indians against left-hander C.J. Wilson (7-6, 3.50).
