Richard D. Jordan, 89, of Grafton, died Saturday, June 21, 2014 at Life Care Center of Elyria, after a short illness. He was born May 13, 1925 in Akron and lived in Elyria/Grafton his entire adult life.
Dick was a 1943 graduate of Elyria High School. He served in the United States Army during World War II and was a Prisoner of War in Germany. He attended Oberlin College and graduated from Case Western Reserve in 1957. He was employed at Bendix in management for over 30 years, retiring in 1986.
He was a long time member of the Eastern Heights Investment Club and the American Legion, and enjoyed bridge, bowling, golf, and fishing.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Patricia (nee Leedy) of Grafton; daughter, Vicki (Stuart) of Texas; sons, Craig (Cherie) of Maryland, Mike of Grafton, Dave (Mary) of Columbus and Rick (Danielle) of New London; sister, Lois (Bill) Downing of Florida; 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Laura (nee Brown) Jordan; brother, James; son, Tim; and great grandson, Brent.
Memorial service will be held at LaPorte United Methodist Church on Saturday, July 5, 2014 at 1 P.M. Dick will be cremated with ashes interred at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman.
