Rep. Steve Stivers’ aide resigns over photo scandal

WASHINGTON — The chief of staff to U.S. Rep. Steve Stivers, R-Columbus, resigned Tuesday, citing poor judgment in his personal life after a graphic photo of him appeared over the Internet.

Adam Kuhn, a longtime aide to Stivers, submitted his resignation.

The photo was sent from a Twitter account belonging to @Rubyadultstar. In the past week, the woman tweeted at least one photo of Kuhn’s penis to Stivers’ Twitter account.

The account has been deleted, but in a cached version of the account from about June 22, the woman identifies herself as the head entertainer at Sam’s Hideaway, on state Route 18 in Sharon Township in Medina County.

The woman from the Twitter page also appears in a number of photos on the Sam’s Hideaway Facebook page from early 2014 and late 2013, where she is identified as Ruby by those who posted the photo. No one answered the phone at a number listed for Sam’s Hideaway.

In a statement to The Associated Press, Kuhn said he was the victim of an attack on Twitter from a woman with whom he had a personal relationship.

“I realize and apologize that I had used poor judgment in my personal life regarding this relationship,” he said.

A spokeswoman for Stivers, Courtney Whetstone, said the congressman had accepted Kuhn’s resignation and that the office had no comment on Kuhn’s personal life.

  • Let Stivers Know

I think everyone should know that Sen Stivers office as well as the Ohio Republican Party were contacted 2 years ago regarding other improprieties of Mr Kuhn to no avail. Nor were calls regarding a Public Records Request never answered. Instead Mr. Kuhn was promoted and paid by Ohio taxpayers for such improprieties which occurred on the job. All the while Mr. Stivers is fully aware of such acts yet running on a platform of family values. Mr Kuhn is not a victim in this case but many others are as well as the taxpayers of the Great State of Ohio.

Ever heard of Eliot Spitzer or Bill Clinton? Yea, taxpayers weren’t particularly thrilled with the actions of either of them, too.
