Drema Paternite (nee Brisendine), 67, of Elyria, died Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at Main Street Care Center in Avon Lake, following a short illness. Drema was born December 3, 1946 in Covington, Virginia and made her home in Elyria for most of her life.
She recently retired as a tax preparer for H&R Block Company. She loved her dog, Lucky and enjoyed cooking, camping, and traveling, especially to Hawaii.
She is survived by her husband David, to whom she was married for 36 years; son, George (Shannon) Owens of Elyria; daughter, Lynne’ Owens of Elyria; four grandchildren, Alexa Owens, Santina Walsh, Shea Owens and Bo Owens; sisters, Penny Stutler of Alabama and Wanda Tovey of Indiana.
She was preceded by a brother, Stephen Brisendine; and her parents, Daniel and Rosalie (nee Craft) Bristow.
Friends will be received at the Reichlin Roberts Funeral Home, 327 Cleveland St., Monday, June 30, 2014 from 1 P.M. until the time of a memorial service in the funeral home at 3 P.M. with Beth McKee, Chaplain of Wesleyan Village, officiating. Private burial for the family will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
