MEDINA — A 30-year-old Grafton woman will spend three years in prison after being convicted of committing a string of burglaries over six months last year in Liverpool Township with her husband.

Shannon Covey pleaded no contest to burglary charges in March. Medina County Common Pleas Judge James L. Kimbler sentenced her Thursday morning.

Her husband, 26-year-old Jerimiah Covey, pleaded guilty two weeks ago. He’s scheduled for a July 28 sentencing, where he could face eight or more years in prison.

The couple was arrested after county sheriff’s deputies tracked down their vehicle, which was spotted near the scene of an attempted robbery in Granger Township. Deputies found some of the items reported stolen in their vehicle.

Investigators connected them to possibly 13 burglaries in Liverpool Township in 2013. They said a second group of burglars might have been targeting the same area.

Oh well, guess they will not be attending any family gatherings for awhile.

I just hope they did not have any children.

He is facing 8 years, while she is facing 3 years. Equal rights should also bring about equal sentencing. This court like other courts show that being a man is a disadvantage. This isn’t 1967! Men have truly became the legislated minority!
