Davion Strupe

ELYRIA — The 24-year-old Lorain man involved in an altercation Tuesday in Elyria died from a single gunshot wound to the back, according to the coroner.

Davion Strupe also had other minor injuries, but the gunshot wound killed him, Lorain County Coroner Dr. Stephen Evans said Thursday.

Also Thursday, one of the suspects, Anthony Marcano, 22, of Cleveland, turned himself in at the Cuyahoga County Jail.

Marcano, the third suspect to be arrested in connection with Strupe’s death, was charged with murder, aggravated burglary and kidnapping.

Marcano was picked up by Elyria police and taken to Lorain County Jail, where he was held without bond.

The other suspects were arrested Wednesday.

Markus Martin, 26, was arrested at an Elyria apartment, and 17-year-old Tristen Belfiore turned himself in at Lorain County Juvenile Detention Home.

Police said Strupe died after he was beaten and shot during a ruckus involving 30 people at 1143 Garden St. about 11:30 p.m. Tuesday. When police arrived at the scene after receiving 911 calls about gunshots in the area, they found a woman screaming and holding Strupe, who was bleeding and unconscious.

Strupe was taken to University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center, where he died from the injuries.

Elyria police Capt. Chris Costantino said officers are investigating and declined to comment on a motive.

Sound like Uncle Fester from the Addams Family… “shoot him in the back!”

    In reality, not very humane.

    Where’s Jesse? Where’s Uncle Al??

You make jokes about this to make it easier for you to understand? Hows that working out for you? This man has friends and family who, I’m sure, don’t think this is funny. And neither are you.

Until you get the bigger issues contained in postings, you’ll remain focused on the little ones.

My comments reflect, 1) Cowards; 2) Compassion & 3) Hypocracy of the Race Baitors who refuse to ante up on events such as this.

Your chastisement is a bit too little, a bit too late.

This senseless violence as a wannabee gangsta lifestyle has
to stop. A young man is dead, not hurt but dead. These 2 young men and one still a child’s lives are completely wasted by their own devise, if convicted.

    How sad

I don’t know about wannabee? Seems like they graduated awhile back.

  • Razorback Twou

I would expect nothing less from a group of cowards. I suspect drugs are involved with this killing and hope that fact will be brought forth in their trial. If only the other 30 cowards could be arrested will this death make any difference. Sad.

HOW VERY SAD WTF IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE???????

  • todd

Hey guest. I’m sorry for such a tragic loss. Seriously senseless. I pray for the family. I hope they lock up those involved (if they are convicted) for the rest of their lives.
With that said, if I had a only one dollar for every time I heard about some dead guy who was… changing his life around or about to start a new job or about to get his GED; I’d have enough money to move out of this ghetto county.
Keep your families off the street at night. Know where your kids are at all times, and take ownership of your actions if you really want change.

this ghetto county or the people that were there who had no business being there is the cause.they were literally trying to beat his door down.now imagine a group of 30 damn men trying to bust down 1 wooden door.as I respect what your saying and I get it believe me but he got cornered and trapped.for a issue that was based off lies.no drugs or anything.it was a lie and so they felt the need to take a mans life.he got surrounded in his own home. he was where he was suppose to be,however the others involved were not and they need to pay for taking his life.taking a mothers son,the girls father,a brother, nephew, friend.

Will there be funeral arrangements listed in the paper?
