ELYRIA — The 24-year-old Lorain man involved in an altercation Tuesday in Elyria died from a single gunshot wound to the back, according to the coroner.

Davion Strupe also had other minor injuries, but the gunshot wound killed him, Lorain County Coroner Dr. Stephen Evans said Thursday.

Also Thursday, one of the suspects, Anthony Marcano, 22, of Cleveland, turned himself in at the Cuyahoga County Jail.

Marcano, the third suspect to be arrested in connection with Strupe’s death, was charged with murder, aggravated burglary and kidnapping.

Marcano was picked up by Elyria police and taken to Lorain County Jail, where he was held without bond.

The other suspects were arrested Wednesday.

Markus Martin, 26, was arrested at an Elyria apartment, and 17-year-old Tristen Belfiore turned himself in at Lorain County Juvenile Detention Home.

Police said Strupe died after he was beaten and shot during a ruckus involving 30 people at 1143 Garden St. about 11:30 p.m. Tuesday. When police arrived at the scene after receiving 911 calls about gunshots in the area, they found a woman screaming and holding Strupe, who was bleeding and unconscious.

Strupe was taken to University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center, where he died from the injuries.

Elyria police Capt. Chris Costantino said officers are investigating and declined to comment on a motive.
