William H. Clemons “Hank”, 86, of Elyria, went to go join God and his wife, Jacqueline Clemons on Monday, June 30, 2014 following a long illness. He was born in Lorain, before moving to Lackawanna, New York in 1930.
Mr. Clemons was employed by Markel Electric Company for 30 years and attended a Catholic Church in Lackawanna, New York. He was an avid Jazz fan and one of the original members of the Nation of Islam in the Buffalo, New York area. Mr. Clemons served in the Army Air Corps at the age of 18.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, enjoyed watching sports, loved playing chess and was an avid reader.
He will be sadly missed by his daughter, Bridget (Larry) Maben of Elyria; sons, Dwight Clemons of Ellenwood, Georgia and Brian Clemons of Buffalo, New York; sister, S Patricia Brooks of Lackawanna, New York; grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jacqueline Clemons; mother, Beulah Clemons; sister, Orlean Harris; brother, Daniel Clemons.
Friends may call Tuesday, July 8, 2014 from 12 Noon until time of service at 1 P.M. in the Carter Funeral Home, Elyria Chapel, 127 West Bridge St., Elyria. Reverend Thorton will give words of comfort.
