Stephen O’dilion Arnal, 77, passed away Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at St. John’s Medical Center in Westlake. He was born in Tiltonsville, Ohio in 1937. He spent most of his adult life living in Sheffield Lake.
He was a member of St. Thomas Apostle Parish in Sheffield Lake, where he served as a Eucharistic Minister, and attended weekly Adoration. He also led the parishioners in the prayer of the Holy Rosary.
He served as a foreman for the road departments of Sheffield Lake and Avon Lake. In the latter part of his career, he retired as the Service Director for the City of Avon Lake. He loved to play golf and enjoyed making a garden every summer. He spent many happy hours with his family, and loved nothing more than sharing a good cup of coffee with them, talking and laughing in the evenings.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Patricia Arnal (nee Bayardi); daughter, Tina Rivenbark (Clifford) of Elyria; son, Steve Arnal of Kansas; son, Jeffery Arnal of Wellington; daughter, Stefanie Arnal of Sheffield Lake; daughter, Trisha Arnal of Sheffield; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Arnal (nee Kritz); his father, Rene Arnal; his sister, Joyce Hanah; and his sister, Shirley Baker.
A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, July 11, 2014, 10 A.M., at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 715 Harris Rd., Sheffield Lake. Father Stephen Shields will be the Celebrant.
