ELYRIA — Budding thespians want to take an audience to Neverland in their rendition of “Peter Pan.’’

It’s a story many are familiar with, but this summer the youngsters of the Lorain County Children’s Pioneer Theatre learned the in and outs of it while putting together a production of “Peter Pan Jr.’’ at Lorain County Community College’s Stocker Center.

Show times are 7 tonight and 2 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are available at the door for $5 each.

Lorain County Children’s Pioneer Theatre was established in 1976 to provide theater education to children from all over Lorain County. The group’s goal is to awaken interests in theater arts in children and the community.

This year, a cast of 78 children will take part in the production. The cast rehearsed lines, songs and dancing, built and painted the set over the past four weeks at St. Mary Parish Hall and Guardian Angel Arts Center.
