An escaped Sheffield Lake prisoner turned himself in on Tuesday morning.

Jeremy Frey turned himself in to his attorney’s office, according to Sheffield Lake Police Chief Tony Campo.

Frey escaped from custody on Friday while being treated at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain.

He was being held at the Sheffield Lake City Jail on a felony domestic violence charge when he complained he felt ill and was taken to the hospital for treatment, according to Sheffield Lake police.

While hospitalized, Frey removed his IV and managed to avoid hospital security while escaping the building.

Campo said Frey was initially charged with domestic violence for a January incident in which he allegedly struck an adult niece.

He now faces a felony escape charge.
