Royal Q. Gregory

Gregory_RoyalRoyal Q. Gregory, 86, of Oberlin, passed away Monday, July 14, 2014 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 26, 1928 in Barbourville, Kentucky.

He worked as a TV Technician at Sears for 25 years, retiring in 1992 and know as the TV man in Oberlin. Royal also worked for Cable Coop for many years. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Oberlin, where he sang in the choir, was a Sunday School teacher, Trustee for 40 years. Royal was a member of Masonic Lodge #73 of Oberlin. He enjoyed being a School crossing guard, bowling, golf & being an avid sports fan.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy L. Gregory of Oberlin; son, Michael S. Gregory of Columbus; daughters, Carolyn E. Thomas of Oberlin, Mary Katherine Jones of Cleveland, Linda M. Gregory of Oberlin and Imogene E. Johnson of Dublin, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; brother, Holbert Gregory of Trotwood, Ohio; sisters, Omeline Ventus, Cincinnati, Betty Reba Bryant of Cincinnati and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Gregory; mother, Ola B. Gregory; daughter, Sandra A. Gregory; brother, Edmond Gregory and sister, Willa Mae Ellis.

Visitation will be Monday, July 21, 2014 from 12 Noon until the time of services at 1 P.M., at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Oberlin, where Masonic services will be at 12:30 P.M. Reverend Fred L. Bell will officiate. Interment will be at New Russia Township Cemetery.
