Michael A. Landin, Sr., 68, of Camden Township, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, July 16, 2014, at his home. He was born November 3, 1945, in Elyria, and lived in the Camden Township area for most of his life.
He attended Firelands Schools. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam conflict. He retired from National Gypsum in 2009. He was a member of the Ely Masonic Lodge #424 in Vermilion, Wellington Eagles, life member of the Elyria AMVETS, the Elyria DAV. He loved gardening, cooking, going to auctions, traveling with his wife, and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Judith (nee Vietzen); his children, Michael Landin, Jr. of Camden Township, Diania, of Camden Township, and Jayson (MaryAnn) Landin of Maryland; a sister, Catherine (William) Strait of Cleveland; a brother, Paul (Debra) Landin of Shelby, Ohio; six grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Lois (Buteria) Landin; two brothers, Edward and George Landin; and a nephew, James Landin.
Friends may call Friday, July 18, 2014, from 4 until 9 P.M., at the Morman Funeral Home, 16 Cooper Street, Wakeman. Masonic Services will be held at 8:30 P.M. Services will be held at 11 A.M., Saturday, July 19, 2014, at the funeral home. Pastors Chuck Livermore and Lee Stull will officiate. Burial, with military rites, will follow at Camden Cemetery.
