ELYRIA – A girl woke up early Tuesday to a teenager climbing through her bedroom window.
A 17-year-old girl told police she was asleep in her house on the 600 block of Delaware Avenue around 5 a.m. Tuesday when she was awakened by a teenager climbing through her window. She told police the teen was black, looked about 13 to 15, and appeared skinny and around 5 feet tall with a grey tank top and khaki shorts.
The girl yelled at the suspect, asking who he was and what he was doing in her house, according to the report. She told police the suspect jumped out of the window and ran.
A 14-year-old girl who was staying at the house for a couple of days told police that she didn’t see anything but that a teenage boy matching the description of the suspect has been coming over to visit the 17-year-old girl over the past few days.
The 17-year-old girl told police that the suspect looked familiar but she couldn’t say for sure that it was the teenage boy who has been visiting her house.
Police found a plastic chair outside of the 17-year-old girl’s room but didn’t find the suspect on Tuesday morning.
