Ray was employed as an electrician at Ford Motor Company in Avon, retiring in 2001. He was a member of Elyria AMVETS Post 32, where he served two terms as a trustee, Elyria United Polish Club and Elyria Eagles Club. He was a member of Mid-Century Lodge No. 725, F. & A.M, Avon Lake and Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Cleveland. He had also been a coach with Little League North and a Life Share blood donor.
Ray is survived by his wife of 35 years, Mary Ann Rose Seymore; daughter, Kelly Joepeck; and grandsons, Nate and Matt Joepeck; step-sons, George (Randi) Rose, Brian (Connie) Rose and Vincent (Kelly) Rose; step-daughters, Darlene (Ray) Straka and Tammie (Joe) Kristoff; 11 step-grandchildren and eight step-great-grandchildren; and brothers, John and Ed Seymore.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Agnes Seymore; step-father, Ed Seymore; and sister, Mary Gwin.
Friends will be received Thursday, July 24 2014 from 3 P.M. until the time of a 6 P.M. service at Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Ave., Elyria. The Reverend C. Thomas French will officiate. Burial will be in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman.
