Mark R. Paulus, 72, of North Ridgeville, passed away Thursday, July 24, 2014, at the Ames Family Hospice House, battling cancer in the same way he lived his life, with exceptional character. Well loved by all, he was born May 26, 1942 in Randolf, Ohio.
Loving and dedicated spouse for 51 years and proud father of three sons, Mark worked for Metropolitan and Nationwide Insurance spanning 40 years. With a lifetime of service, he was an active member of St. Peter Parish, where he served as a Eucharistic Minister for 35 years, generously serving shut-ins. Mark was also active in Pre-Cana for 15 years and Marriage Encounter for 25 years. He was also deeply involved with Kairos Prison Ministries, helping those on the edge of society for his last nine years.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley (nee Nuspl) Paulus; his son, Chris of Strongsville; his son, Jeff, wife Kristene and their three children, Ashley, Michelle and Ben, all of North Royalton; and his son, Jack, wife Amy Likar and their two children, Hannah and Josh, all of Orinda, California; sisters, Rita Kotkowski of Mantua, Jane Bedard of Mogadore, Jean Stanley of Ravenna, Ann Wibert of Newton Falls; brother, Lee of North Canton and numerous friends and relatives.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Carl J., Glen F. and Roy H.; and his parents, Urban J. and Anna Marie (nee Rider) Paulus.
Calling hours will be held Friday, July 25, 2014, 5 until 8 P.M., at Bogner Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville. A Mass will be held Saturday, July 26, 2014, 12 Noon, at St. Peter Church, 35777 Center Ridge Rd. The Reverend Bob Franco, Pastor, will be the Celebrant. Inurnment will follow in St. Peter Cemetery.
