Robert F. Rulli

Rulli_RobertRobert F. Rulli, 82, devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend, died Wednesday, July 16, 2014, after a brief illness with cancer. Bob was born April 2, 1932 in South Lorain, to Stephen A. and Mary J. (Sestili) Rulli. He was a 1950 graduate of Lorain High School.

Bob wore many hats during his life; he ran the personnel office for National Tube Co. of U.S. Steel; owned and ran a laundromat; participated in several entrepreneurial ventures; and was recognized for his achievements and passion in politics. He was the District Administrative Assistant for Congressman Don Pease and Chief Deputy Auditor for Lorain County. Bob managed the Humphrey for President Ohio campaign, was the delegate to the 1968 Democratic National Convention, chaired the Lorain County Democratic Central Committee, and was Secretary of the Lorain County Democratic Party Executive Committee.

Bob retired to Hamilton, where he enjoyed spending time with his family and traveling the world.

Bob is survived by his wife of 60 years, Sonya (Sherban); his seven children, Michael, Dino, Mary, Eric, Stephenie, Vicki, Dina, their spouses; and numerous grandchildren and great- grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers Joe and Rudy and sister Yolanda.

No services are being held at this time, as the family will have a service celebrating his life later this year.
