Homer Chapman, 70, of Sheffield Village passed away Friday, July 25, 2014 after a short battle with leukemia. His family was by his side when he drifted off to be with the Lord. He was born to Homer and Mary Jane Chapman (nee Depola) on May 29, 1944.
He was employed as a Machinist for 22 years with High Level Screw Products, Strongsville and retired after 17 years with Parker-Hannifin, East Lake.
Homer was never at a loss for words and was a friend to everyone he met. Once you met Homer and spent time with him, you never forgot him. He was a lifelong and passionate New York Yankee’s fan. he loved to watch Yankee games, fish, hunt, camp and spend time with his family.
Homer is survived by his wife of 50 years, Beverly (nee Burkey); his son, Bill (Krista) and Steve (Candi); his brother, Bob (Jennie); sister, Barbara and sister Brenda (Gus); his grandson, Bill, Jr (Cara); granddaughters, Candice and CateLynn; and great-grandson, Colton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was proceeded by his father, Homer, his mother, Mary Jane; his brother, Raymond; and sister, Delores.
Friends may call Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at the Busch Funeral Home, 32000 Detroit Road, Avon from 11 A.M. until time of funeral service at 1 P.M. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
