Peggy (Margaret) Patterson (nee Sparks), of Waterford, Michigan, went to be with the Lord Monday, June 23, 2014, after a courageous battle with cancer, at the age of 64, with her husband and daughter by her side.
Peggy was born November 23, 1949 in Elyria. She lived all of her young life in Elyria and graduated in 1968 from Elyria High School. She moved to Michigan in 1977 and remained there until her death. She worked at The Home Depot for 17 years. She also worked for Lorain County until the time of her relocation to Michigan.
She is survived by her husband, Tony Patterson of Waterford; her loving daughter, Diane Thompson (Grant Gritzinger) of Waterford; grandchildren; Alexina Thompson, Savannah and Corrine Aldrich, David and Taryn Burress, Kennedy and Christian Blaszkiewicz; sisters, Barbara (Thomas) Lowen of Michigan, Catherine (Roy) Shaw of Elyria, Betsy (John) Gingras of Vermont and brother, David (Darlene) Sparks of Elyria and by Melissa (Daniel) Blaszkiewicz of Flint, Michigan and previous husband, Jerry Thompson of Elyria. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
She was greeted to heaven with open arms, by her late husband, David Wood; parents, Jean and Arthur Sparks and sister, Christine Wood.
A Memorial service will be held Saturday, August 2, 2014, at St. Andrews Church, 300 Third St., Elyria, at 12 P.M.
