Lillian M. Metera (nee Harrell), 88, of Elyria, passed away Sunday, July 27, 2014, at Center Ridge Nursing Home of North Ridgeville, following a long illness. She was born September 28, 1925 in Lorain.
Lillian was a 1943 graduate of Lorain High School. She worked for Lorain County Community College for 16 years as a switchboard operator. Lillian was a member of the United Polish Club Auxiliary and her other interests include sewing, crocheting, cooking, playing bingo and she never missed a little league game.
Survivors include her sons, Richard and Robin (Sharon), both of Elyria; grandchildren, Kimberly, Mike (Renee) and Chelsea; great-grandchildren, Zoe, Seth and Madisen; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John in 1993; her parents, Robert, Sr. and Mary (nee Svetlewski); sisters, Julia Sito, Marlene Kilmer and Rita Smigel; brothers, Walter, Henry, Carl, Chester and Robert Caszmir, Jr.
Family will receive friends Friday, August 1, 2014, from 9 A.M., until time of prayers at 10:30 A.M., at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria 440-322-4626, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11 A.M., at St. Mary Church, 320 Middle Avenue, Elyria. The Reverend Father Charles Diedrick will be the Celebrant. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Elyria.
