  • 12:07 a.m. —Police arrested Enid Sanabria, 49, 901 W. 10th St., for DWI, driving under suspension, reckless operation, failure to comply and stop sign violations. Police attempted to stop Sanabria after she was seen driving at speeds in excess of 50 mph in a residential area on West 19th Street and running a stop sign. According to a police report, Sanabria did not initially stop when police put their sirens on and she ran another stop sign and reached speeds of 60 mph when they pursued her. Police said they smelled alcohol when they finally got Sanabria to stop and as she exited the vehicle she said, “I’m not a criminal, I’m just a drunk.” When police asked her how much she had to drink, she said close to a 12-pack and she had probably started drinking at 6 or 7 p.m. Sanabria declined a field sobriety test, according to the police report, and police arrested her on other traffic violations. According to the report, Sanabria has eight open driving suspensions and when she did take a breath test at the police station, it registered at .110. When police checked Sanabria’s driving record, they found she had five prior OVI convictions from 2013, 2010, two in 1992 and 1987.

A full year in prison sounds about right for this one.
