The lawsuit, filed Tuesday in Lorain County Common Pleas Court, accuses Thomas Denes Jr. and Todd Denes of following Larry Sugaski after he saw them fighting in a front yard and stopped to ask if they needed help Jan. 15.
The brothers reportedly told Sugaski to mind his own business, and he left, but noticed they were following him. The lawsuit said Sugaski pulled into Findley State Park to seek help at a ranger station, but the Denes’ vehicle hit his truck, and he stopped. The brothers began to attack him, moved his vehicle and asked if he had learned his lesson about staying out of others people’s business, according to the lawsuit.
Sugaski was treated at a hospital for a concussion and other injuries from the incident.
Both Thomas Denes Jr. and Todd Denes have pleaded not guilty to felonious assault charges in connection with the attack. Todd Denes also is charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
