Allen Tate, 35, and Charda Thorpe, 26, both of Lorain, were charged with receiving stolen property after police confirmed an Infiniti they got into in the parking lot of the Red Lobster restaurant at Midway Mall had been stolen in Cleveland.
Police reports said officers were sent to the restaurant’s parking lot shortly before 10 p.m. after receiving information about the location of the vehicle from employees of an electronic vehicle tracking system. At 10:15 p.m., a man and woman later identified as Tate and Thorpe got into the Infiniti. After Tate started the car, police pulled behind it and turned the cruiser’s lights on.
Thorpe told police she bought the car from a cousin, while Tate said he had received the Infiniti from his cousin.
