Christopher Allen “Chris” Sawyer

Sawyer_ChrisChristopher Allen “Chris” Sawyer, 54, of Wellington, died Friday, August 8, 2014, at MetroHealth Medical Center, Cleveland. He was born December 19, 1959 in Oberlin. Chris was a lifelong resident of Wellington. He was a 1978 graduate of Wellington High School. Chris worked as a dedicated employee of the Ford Motor Co., at Textron Automotive in Elyria for a few years and was the owner and manager of Sawyer LLC of Wellington. He was a member of the Wellington Eagles Arie 2051 and the NRA. He loved spending time with his family. Chris enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his motorcycle and traveling. He loved the Cleveland Browns and sat for 28 years in the front row of the Dawg Pound.

He is survived by his wife, Robin (nee Diller) Sawyer, whom he married September 23, 2006; his children, Brett and Melissa Sawyer, both of Lakewood, Angela (Joseph) Petriella of Grafton and Mathew Brattoli and his fiancee, Jeanine of Wellington; three grandchildren, Antonio, Emilio and Isabella; his father, Kenneth (Barb) Sawyer of Sullivan; his brother, Kenny Sawyer of Michigan; three nephews and one niece.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Sawyer and grandparents, Mary and Oliver Brennan and Wilda Sawyer.

Friends may call from 2 until 4 and 6 until 8 P.M., Wednesday, August 13, 2014, at the Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 S. Main St., Wellington. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 A.M., Thursday, August 14, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 512 North Main St., Wellington, with Father James Reymann as the Celebrant. Visitation on Thursday, at the church, will begin at 10 A.M. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Wellington.
