Identities unavailable for crash victims

LORAIN — The conditions of the two people critically injured when a motorcycle and sport utility vehicle collided at Kansas Avenue and E Street around 4:30 p.m. Saturday could not be ascertained Sunday.

Police Lt. Alan Cornwell, head of the Traffic Services Division, wouldn’t release the victims’ names, according to an email from Officer Kyle Gelenius, the investigating officer.

A Saturday police news release said the crash involved a 45-year old motorcyclist and Lorain resident and a 72-year old Sheffield Lake woman, who was driving a Kia Sportage.

No explanation was given for not releasing the names.
