Rachel A. “Dolly” Teel (nee Kincaid), 83, of Elyria, passed away Saturday, August 9, 2014, at the Cleveland Clinic, following a short illness. She was born December 28, 1930 in Hemlock, West Virginia.
Mrs. Teel had been a Lorain County resident for 52 years and prior to living in Elyria, she resided in Eaton Township and Columbia Station. She was employed for over 30 years at Columbia Local Schools as a cook and at the time of her retirement, she was the head cook for the school district. Mrs. Teel was a member of the North Ridgeville Church of Christ. For the past several years she enjoyed her meetings with “the breakfast club”, a group of close friends that got together weekly and enjoyed each others company. She also enjoyed gardening, traveling and cooking. Her greatest joy was to spend time with her beloved family.
She is survived by three sons, Richard Teel (Sharon) of Garfield Heights, Gary Teel of North Ridgeville and Wayne Teel of Eaton Township; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and three half-sisters, Jeanie, Fay and Dottie.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Maldon Teel in 1996; her parents, Jennings and Vester (nee Goddard) Kincaid; one sister, Kathleen; three brothers, Willard, Winford and Walter; two half-sisters, Fran and Lynn; and one half-brother, Ray.
The family will receive friends Wednesday August 13, 2014, from 5 until 9 P.M., at the Liston Funeral Home, 36403 Center Ridge Rd., (at Stoney Ridge Rd.), North Ridgeville. The funeral service will be Thursday, August 14, 2014, at 10 A.M., in the funeral home, with Minister Douglas Roush officiating. Burial will be at Columbia Township Cemetery (West River Rd.) in Columbia Station.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association.
