The 34-year-old Middle Avenue resident said she was walking from the Gas USA station on the east side of the street near Oberlin-Elyria Road, according to police Officer Fred Merrill’s report. She said a southbound two-toned dark Toyota with a temporary license plate carrying three men pulled up to her, and one asked her if she needed a ride.
The woman said she ignored the man and continued to walk and then was grabbed from behind and pulled toward a man wearing a dark-colored mask. She said she was hit in the left eye and cut in the left arm with some type of instrument. The woman said her phone was stolen during the assault and the men drove south on Middle Avenue.
Merrill wrote that the wound was about an inch long and would require stitches. The woman was treated at University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center.
