Elaine graduated from Lorain High School. She was employed as a travel advisor at AAA for 25 years before retiring. Elaine was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Amherst, where she was a member of the choir and served as the secretary at St. Joseph Catholic School. She was a member of WHO, S.C.O.A. and T.V.R. Car Club.
Survivors include her son, Charles D. Birkline and his wife Michelle of Amherst; her daughter, Lynne M. Sebring and her husband Doug of North Ridgeville; grandchildren, Michael Arango, Kari Hutchison, Jake and Josh Birkline; and three great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Donald Charles Birkline; her mother, Eva (nee Greulich); and step-father, Donald Burkhart.
Friends may call Sunday, August 17, 2014 from 4 P.M. until the time of the funeral service at 6 P.M. at the Hempel Funeral Home, 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Burial will take place privately by the family.
