Ivy Dorcas Jackson

Jackson_IvyIvy Dorcas Jackson, 61, of Elyria, died suddenly Monday, August 11, 2014. She was born June 9, 1953 in Elyria and was a 1971 graduate of Elyria High School.

She had also attended Ohio State University and Lorain County Community College. Ivy was purchasing manager at Nelson Stud Welding where she has been employed for over forty years. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and coordinating events for which she had a special talent. She was always willing to help and encourage everyone and her smile was uplifting to all those she touched. Other interests included reading and crafts.

Ivy is survived by sons, Ivan M. (Bobbie) Jackson, Julian C. Jackson-Ross; daughter, Sasha C. Jackson-Ross; sister, Leslie K. Jackson; grandchildren, Symone and Cameron Jackson; aunt, Barbara (Robert) Paige; one niece; four nephews; eight great nephews; three great nieces and one great great nephew. Also surviving are a host of additional family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willis V. and Julia E. Jackson.

Friends will be received Sunday, August 17, 2014 from 5 until 8 P.M., at Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria. Friends will also be received Monday, August 18, 2014 from 10 A.M. until the time of an 11 A.M. service at Church On The North Coast, 4125 Leavitt Rd., Lorain, OH 44053. Pastor Louis Kayatin will officiate. Burial will be in Ridgelawn Cemetery, Elyria.
