Sheriff’s Office initiates ‘Cram the Cruiser’ at Lorain County Fair

WELLINGTON — When heading to the Lorain County Fair this week, consider bringing along a few school supplies to help students in the Clearview and Elyria school districts.

Sheriff Phil Stammitti and his staff announced the first “Cram the Cruiser” during the week of the fair.

A sheriff’s cruiser will be parked at the Lorain County sheriff’s station inside the main gate at the fairgrounds.

Visitors to the 2014 fair are encouraged to bring No. 2 pencils, colored pencils, large pink erasers, crayons (box of 16), spiral-bound composition notebooks, pocket folders, highlighters, index cards, ballpoint pens, water-based markers, glue sticks, drawing paper, small plastic storage boxes, rulers/protractors, Scotch tape, loose-leaf notebook paper and 4-ounce bottles of white glue.

Businesses, organizations or individuals who would like to donate supplies but will not attend the fair may drop their donation at the sheriff’s office, 9896 Murray Ridge Road, Elyria, or call the office at (440) 329-3844 to make arrangements.
