Jessica Barwacz, 33, of Broadview Heights, is the new principal at Prospect Elementary School.
This is her third year in Elyria Schools. Previously, she was assistant principal at Franklin Elementary for two years. In addition, she taught special needs students in North Ridgeville for eight years.
Barwacz has a bachelor’s degree from Bowling Green State University and a master’s degree from Ashland University.
She is the mother of two — Addison, 2, and Emma, eight months old.
She plays the piano, loves to run and go to the zoo and the children’s museum with her children.
If a student comes to her office, she wants the visit to be for a good reason
“I will have chocolate, fun pencils and a treasure box for kids who visit with wonderful news of the things they are doing in the classroom,” she said.
She is a huge Cleveland sports fan — Browns, Cavs and Indians.
“I am so happy LeBron has come back,” she said. I am now a season ticket holder.”
