Westlake man, 22, accused of stabbing parents

A Westlake man sustained life-threatening injuries after he and his wife were stabbed by their son Monday night, according to police.

Police received a 911 hang-up call from 27965 Southbridge Drive at 10:18 p.m. Monday. A callback by dispatch revealed that two residents had been stabbed by their son, Robert Jaworski, 22, according to a release from police.

Kim Jaworski, 58, and his wife, Carol Jaworski, 56, were both transported by Westlake Fire Department to St. John Medical Center and then flown by medical helicopter to MetroHealth Medical Center. Kim Jaworski sustained life-threatening injuries, according to the release.

As of Tuesday morning, Kim Jaworski was in critical condition, and Carol Jaworski was in fair condition, according to a MetroHealth spokesman.

North Olmsted, Rocky River and Bay Village police departments assisted in the search for the suspect. Robert Jaworski was arrested without incident at 11:29 p.m. at Porter Road and Lansing Drive. He is being held at the Westlake City Jail.

Charges have not been filed, but are likely to be two counts of felonious assault or attempted murder, as directed by the Westlake city prosecutor.
